President's Message
Alan Menkis, MD, FRCSC
Dear Colleague,

I am pleased to serve as the President of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS) for the 2012-2013 year and proud to follow so many innovative leaders in the minimally invasive surgery field. I appreciate the support of the ISMICS membership and look forward to a successful year.

We were proud to host this year’s annual meeting in Los Angeles, California, which was the 15th Anniversary of the Society. The 2012 Annual Meeting had the highest attendance on record for the West Coast, with a total of 527 attendees. The Society now has 836 members representing almost every region of the world and we are continuing to grow. I would like to thank Dr. John Knight for his successful term as president which culminated in an excellent annual meeting.
